I don't know if I want to go to college to major in acting or musical theater. I would really like to go to New York and maybe LA, California. I need recommended schools and help & reviews. I'm thinking about Julliard, NYU's Tisch, and maybe even Carnegie Mellon (i know that's not in NY or CA). Reviews? Tips? Which are really hard? Other schools? Thank You.

  1. Go to careercruising.com

Take a quiz and then you can find out what college would be best for you.

  2. OU has a great musical theatre program so i hear.  i have an old friend who when there and knew this girl who went through the program and soon she will be tracy turnblad in broadway's "Hairspray".  also University of Michigan i hear has a great theatre program. and try looking into local acting conservatories.

  3. The top musical theatre / acting schools in the country are Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Tisch (NYU), Carnegie Mellon, University of Michigan, Julliard, Northwestern University, and Oklahoma City University. They are all very good and prestigious. They are very hard to get into and you have to audition months ahead of time to even have a chance, but it would be well worth it if musical theatre and acting is what you love. Good luck!

  4. MRM 4052 is correct.

Also, Yale has the best graduate program in the country.

Julliard is the best undergraduate program and you really have to be the best of the best to get in.
