Best competitive PC games around today?

Question

I have some money to blow, and I'd like some ideas for some PC games to buy. Competitive multiplayer is a must, meaning a huge community and in-depth gameplay. However, I'm not particularly fond of MMORPGs so it's mainly RTSs and FPSs (Except COD4 and CS:S as I already own them).

Oh, and they should last for more than a year. Cheers!

I would recommend the games in the Command and Conquer Series as a good RTS.
