  1. There is a website called Roadfood.com that has posts on how different people prepare hot baloney sandwiches and/or how they like them prepared.  Here are some ideas:

    * The baloney is cut very thick, 1/2", & fried, served on a hamburger bun with a sweetish hot sauce with lettuce, tomato, & pickle.

    * Grilled bologna sandwich with onions and a great sauce.

Also, here are two tasty recipes for fried (hot) baloney sandwich:

    Ingredients

    1) bologna, 1/2 inch thick slice

    2) sliced tomato

    3) cheese

    4) mayo and mustard

    5) bread

    6) chopped cabbage (slaw) or lettuce

    7) green chile (pepper)

Fry the balogna in pan over medium high heat.  Bologna doesn't need to be cooked, of course, so just brown or blacken it some.  Toast your bread in the oven, making sure to melt cheddar cheese on one side.  If you can find Texas toast, that's better.  You can even buy bread and cut your own slices, but the cheese should be melted on one side.  Put your mayo and mustard (either or, if you like), on the side with no cheese, then add the tomato and lettuce.  I like cold slaw, which already has mayo in it, so you can leave that out if you use the slaw.  If hot stuff bothers you, leave off the green chile (I'm talking about the store bought kind in a can or jar).  Put the cheese side on top, and you've got a bologna sandwich.

    DEEP FRIED BALONEY SANDWICHES

    2 thick slabs of baloney

    2 pieces of Wonder Bread

2 Tbsp. (just a suggestion, use as much as you want)

    mayonnaise/peanut butter

    1 can mandarin oranges

Beat all ingredients together. Throw yer baloney into the deep fryer. Cook until crispy, but not too crispy. Coat your bread with mayonnaise or peanut butter (if you use peanut butter, make sure you got a big 'ol glass of milk. She can get purty dry). Slap the baloney down on the bread and yer in for some good eatin'!
