Question:

Best deal for buying fuel efficient vehicle?

I'm a geologist who is always in the field or rock hounding. However I am also green friendly and trying to find a vehicle that is higher off the ground and gets great mileage.

My current car I've had the alignment done three times already since I've taken it places where I shouldn't.

Anyone have a car they would like to share? I've looked at Honda CRV, Toyota RAV4, Subaru (Forester/outback) and Ford escape. I don't know how accurate the EPA emission and gas mileage http://www.fueleconomy.gov/f*g/findacar.htm so I wanted driver comments.
