  1. How about chicken and dumplings

I package boneless chicken breast thin sliced

    Bisquick

    milk

    Chick broth reduced sodium

Cook the chicken with spices and butter and some of the broth in a Dutch oven at 450 for 20 mins.  add the dumpling per the box directions.  cook uncovered for 10 mins, then covered for 10 mins.  When you put in the dumplings, add more broth.

  2. my kids favorite dish is sauted shrimp in butter/white wine/garlic sauce with bowtie pasta and broccoli.  I toss the raw broccoli in the pasta water for 3 minutes.  You can use chicken instead of shrimp.

  3. You could add some meat to this if you wish and chop and change the ingredients.

    Chop Suey:- Vegetable

    2 tablespoons peanut oil

    1 onion, chopped

    3 garlic cloves, diced

    1 green bell pepper, diced

    1 red bell pepper, diced

    2 3/4 ounces broccoli florets

    1 zucchini, sliced

    1 carrot, cut into matchsticks

    3 1/2 ounces bean sprouts

    2 teaspoons light brown sugar

    2 tablespoons soy sauce

    1/2 cup vegetable stock

    salt and pepper

    1/2 cup cashew (optional)

    1 tablespoon chilli oil (optional)

    1) Heat oil in a wok until oil is almost smoking.

    2) Add the onion and garlic and stir fry for 30 seconds. Take care not to burn the garlic.

    3) Stir in peppers, broccoli, zucchini, and carrots. Stir fry for 3 more minutes.

    4) Add bean sprouts, brown sugar, soy sauce and vegetable stock (add chilli sauce and cashews here is desired).

    5) Add a dash of salt and pepper and cook an additional 2 minutes.

Serve immediately with noodles or rice.

  4. Try some indian vegetarian food.

    One recipe is here

    1 tsp pure ghee

    Garam masala to taste

    Red chili powder to taste

    1 tsp cumin powder

    Salt To Taste

How to make sag (palak) paneer:

        * Clean and wash palak (spinach) nicely.

        * Boil the spinach in water and cool it.

        * Now mash it in a mixer.

        * Heat oil in a kadai. Add ginger-garlic paste and stir-fry for a minute.

        * Now add onions and fry till golden brown.

        * Add all spices except red chili powder.

        * Now add the spinach (palak) and little water if needed and cook for 4-5 minutes.

        * Cut paneer into pieces (Paneer can be fried to golden brown in a seperate pan or can be used as it is).

        * Add Paneer pieces to the gravy and cook until done.

        * Take out in a bowl.

        * Just before serving, heat pure ghee in a small pan.

  5. Cheeseburger Pie

    1 unbaked 9" pie shell

    1 lb. ground beef

    1/2 cup tomato sauce

    1/3 cup chopped onion

1/3 cup chopped green bell pepper

1 tsp. instant beef bouillon granules

    3 eggs, beaten

    2 Tbs. flour

    8 slices American cheese, divided

Heat oven to 425. Bake pie shell for 8 minutes; remove from oven.

Reduce temperature to 350 degrees. Heat a large skillet over medium

heat; add beef. Cook until brown and crumbly, about 5 minutes. Add

tomato sauce, onion, bell pepper, and bouillon. Cook until bouillon

dissolves; remove from heat. Add eggs and flour; mix well. Tear 6

    cheese slices into small pieces. Stir cheese into beef mixture;

spoon into pie shell. Bake pie for 25 minutes or until filling is

heated through. Cut remaining cheese slices into triangles. Arrange

triangles in a spoke-fashion on top of pie. Bake for about 3 minutes

longer, or until cheese is melted. Cut pie into wedges.

VARIATION: For a delicious flavor variation, use Swiss or Provolone

cheese instead of the American cheese.

  6. I love cooking in my crockpot because my household is busy as well.  I throw in chicken, chicken broth, veggies and some pasta in the morning - let cook on low for 8 hours.

Also, put either chicken or beef stew chunks in the crock pot, add fat free cream of mushroom soup, 1 container of light or fat free sour cream, one package of lipton onion soup (powder) and mix all together.  let cook on low for 8 hours and serve over pasta or rice.

Franks & Beans are always a good meal!  Serve with Mac & Cheese or steamed veggies
