I am with the other two above. The Witchery is by far the best place to eat in Edinburgh. I have no idea whether it is open on Christmas Day but I have been twice and it is fabulous!

The Witchery on the Royal Mile (practically at Edinburgh Castle gates) is very atmospheric and is supposed to have good food. I didn't go when I was there because I couldn't afford it! But it is generally well-regarded. Not sure if it's open Christmas Day. You might look them up online. Have a great time--it's a lovely city.

The Witchery is a fantastic place to eat! The atmosphere is amazing. The decor is beautiful and well thought out. Even the wine list appears to be a big thick book of spells!!

I would say the witchery. Itr must be good. I live in the EAst midlands (of England) and even I've heard people raving about the place.
