Best ever...?

Aussie road trip story! - I'm planning one and need some inspiration for random destinations (you know the small town with weird locals and creepy museum kind), accommodation vs. campervan, saving money etc.

That said - points go to the person who makes me laugh!

Well, Hubby and I lived in NT for a while at Tennent Creek. We decided to check out some of the hot springs further up. Someone told us about 'Mataranka' and off we went. It was beautiful, but the thing it reminded me of is that scene in the movie 'Cocoon' when all the old people are jumping in the swimming pool to make themselves younger again. The hot spring was full of retirees on their 'round Australia trip'

Seriously it is worth the trip, and I would love to go back there. I don't know how much accomodation is coz we just did a day trip.

Daly waters in the Northern Territory or if you go Darwin to Broome which is a fabulous trip you can make all sorts of discoveries. this trip can be different each time travelled

nimbin is a great town...... its like walking back in to the 70s with free love every where!

also a little town called taylors arm.......... home of the imfamous pub with no beer!

both towns are in nsw, use google earth to find them!
