  14. Monopoly is a great game to play with the family, because it can teach your kids about money management.

Another one which is fun, and also teaching, is Life.

Finally, Uno is a great family card card.

  15. Wow, good thing I came.  Monopoly and Risk are all good games if no one cares about playing a game but rolling dice and chasing each other around the board.  Scrabble is great if you want to create a spelling bee.

If you're interested in a real board game that is fun, family friendly and guaranteed to keep everyone involved until the end I'd try ticket to ride or Puerto Rico.  Both are great family games with engrossing game play options.

The problem with monopoly and risk is that they are primarily luck based that exclude other players after 30 to 45 minutes of play. Then those excluded player, with no chance of winning, are forced to stay in for hours as they play the pawn of the leading players.  At the end, two players go back and forth until one rolls poorly. These games rarely keep the attention of all the family members.

The euro games i mention are amazing for keeping all the players involved until the ending rounds.  You can take multiple strategies to victory.
