I am 6'5, which bike would I ride the most comfortably in? I am also looking for a good performance bike with great handling. Just to name a few... Suzuki Hayabusa, Honda CBR1100XX, Honda CBR1000RR, Yamaha R1?

  1. Those are all certainly very fast bikes.  Some (like the R1) are sportbikes that are not meant to be comfortable, especially for a big person.

The only way you can tell if a bike is comfortable for you is to sit on it.  The dealer or seller would be happy to let you sit on a bike.  If it has a centerstand you can put your feet up on the pegs and your hands on the handlebars and think to yourself 'Could I sit like this for 2 hours?'  In fact if you have a place in your neighborhood where bikes congregate on Summer weekends you can walk around and look at everyone's bikes and even there people will be happy to let you sit on their bikes.

  2. If you are not an experienced rider, those bikes are too powerful for a beginner.

It's not like a car where you can easily control the throttle. A motorcycle has many more dynamics going on and  it's a lot easier to make a throttle mistake.  A mistake with a 40hp engine is a lot more forgiving than 140hp.

  3. did you do an insurance quote first?

I know 30 year old guys that pay $3000 a year on insurance for those type of bikes

that's why I settled for a Yamaha FZ6 instead of a R1, or FZ1, the yearly rate for my FZ6 is $400 compared to $1400 for the FZ1 and $1700 for the R1

    just trying to help
