  1. Red devils are nice but you won't be able to keep many tankmates. I'd go with a few aggressive fish that can deal with each other. Fish like jack dempseys, green terrors, firemouths, convicts, severums, black belts, salvinis....those fish will get pretty big, they will be aggressive, and you have a decent chance that they will get along if they are introduced very young (2 inches long). You must provide tons of filtration and don't overstock for your tank.

  2. In my opinion the 125 is better because the fish have a longer distance they can swim, but if you are planning on keeping really big fish then I would say the 120 so they have more room to turn, but it's all up to you on what you get.

As far as the fish goes that once again is up to you, you could have a community tank with guppies, dwarf gouramis, ghost shrimp, tetras, etc. or you could have a cichlid tank with electic yellow's and such.

You could do a one species/fish tank such as a tank of nothing but angels and an algae eater or two.

There are soo many choices, once you decide what type of tank you want then I might be of better assistance.

Also you could have a saltwater setup but I wouldn't be much help in that category.

    Good Luck!!

    Edited to add that:

    120 gallon tank measures 48 1/2 x 24 1/4 x 25 1/2

    125 gallon tank measures 72 1/2 x 18 1/2 x 23 3/8

  3. This is a total opinion based question.  Who can really say that a large school of six different Tetra's is any better then a Mbuna and Hap African cichlid mix?  Who can say that a collection of live bearers in a planted tank this size is any better then a group of Loaches and Botia's?  There's so many different options here, what would help out more is getting an idea of what kind of fish you like.

A Jag or Wolf would probably be too large to keep in a group really.  You could probably do a few Dempsey's or Green Terror's but the only issue with these, is that if you elect to go with South American types like this, you're going to have a serious challenge to find tank mates to put in there.  However, if you elect to go the African route, overstocking is actually a good thing and works out quite well.

You could also go with a pair of Oscars as it appears that you have a preference for South American types.

  4. as I recall a 120 and a 125 are both 6 foot tanks the 125 is a very wide tank being 18 inches I am not sure where the difference in the 2 tanks is my guess is height

as far as which is better they are basicly the same but following the rule bigger is better gives it to the 125

I have a 125 and to be honest I doubt there would be enough difference to matter as far as best fish that would depend soley on what your likes in fish are
