which handgun would be best for a family to have around the home? something the whole family would be able to shoot, and also be used to defend them selves.

  1. 9mm Beretta maybe. This gun was advertised in a 1995 Gun catalogue. The gun was said to be light and small a good weapon for women to defend temselves with from rapists.

    Easy to carry . Might work for children as well. A .22 Deer Rifle may also be a choice. Colt .45's may be another but may be too heavy.


  2. a .22 revolver or pistol.  A .410 or 20 gauge shotgun would be better and even an older child of 12 or so would be able to shoot and not be afraid of the recoil.

  3. get a Taurus .38 cal revolver it is very simple to operate and maintain. also powerful enough to protect you with a minimum amount of recoil. I mention the Taurus because it is a very good gun but inexpensive. but any of the American gun companies have very good quality firearms. another suggestion is to talk to a dealer at a locally owned gun shop he will be able to show and suggest not only guns but custom modifications that can be done to make them more user friendly to you.
