Well, I'm currentley using NAV 2002, I've got an NAV '07 disk somewhere, but the activation went away with my old computer (I was a n00b about it...). I've tried Uniblue SpyEraser, liked it, but it was pirated. I need the best possible virus scanner out there, free of charge.

  6. I don't think there is a "best" virus scanner, they all have their strong & weak points. Try one of the following, they are quite good

    * Avast (I use this) (http://www.avast.com)

    * AVG (http://free.avg.com)

    * BitDefender (http://www.bitdefender.com)

    If you want a paid version, I recommend NOD32 (http://www.eset.com) or Kaspersky (http://www.kaspersky.com), these are low on resource usage while having a high detection rate (based on personal experience).

    See the link below as well

  7. AVG8.0 by Grisoft makes a freeware version. I have used AVG for about three years and I have been very satisfied with the ease of use and compatability with most software and networks. If you have an older / slower machine you may not want use just the antivirus software. My old 533mhz HP wont handle spamgaurd and spyware programs. Hope this helps

  8. AVG free edition

  10. Virus scanners are dam near obsolete. lf i were you l'd buy Malwarebytes full protection. Ton's of people are getting hit. Look up windows antivirus 2008. The free version will scan and delete the trojan zlob and all other malware but you have to buy the full time protection. Whatever you do don't fall for avg it's a total hog on the memory.

  11. I installed AVG in Ubuntu so that I can scan windows partitions/flashdrives etc.

    AVG is nice, easy on resources, and support Open Source platforms too! (Unlike Mcafee and others that have an interest to ONLY support windows and keep people using windows)

  12. Hi!

    For free antivirus i recommend AVG Free Edition.

    Here's a link: http://free.avg.com/

  13. Threat Fire is PC Magazine Editor's choice free anti-virus that is most effective.

    ThreatFire's patent-pending ActiveDefense

    technology offers protection against all types of internet threats

    - both known and unknown - spyware, adware, keyloggers, viruses, worms,

    Trojans, rootkits, buffer overflows, and other malware.

    http://www.threatfire.com/

  14. I recommend Kaspersky Internet Security. It's not free though. But you can download it for a 30-day trial and look for keys(ilegally) by torrent.. haha..

  15. avg free :)

    www.grisoft.com from memory :P

  16. Avira Personal Edition.

    Much higher detection rate than AVG. It found viruses that AVG didn't find.

    The people that recommend AVG prolly didn't even try Avira...

    and the thumbs down proves my point lol
