  1. I think Matt Burke is the best fullback ever.  He was excellant positionally, a great kicker, fantastic defence, and had an amazing presence on the field.  He also had very good longevity and was able to leave the then super 12 competition on his own terms.

  2. christian cullen- all time leading try scorer for the tri nations(16) scored 46 tries for the ab's, 56 tries in the super 14.

  3. Andrew Ripley.  I saw him play in a tour of the states.  At the time, his nickname was Andy Cap because he was Englands  most Capped player.  (I believe this was around 1980).  He played for the Roseland Park club in England.  He was tall, strong, and fast.  He was also an Olympic hurdler.

  4. Have to be Don Clark from NZ.Wonderfull kicker.Scored all the points to beat the Lions in the late fifties

  5. Christian Cullen. Tries! that's why! 46 for the All blacks 56 in super rugby and 16 in tri nations. Also New Zealand arguably lost two world cups because of bad treatment of this man. In 1999 he was moved from fullback to centre nullifying his counter-attacking abilities and losing his rock solid defence at the back. Jeff Wilson although a great player was not half the fullback cullen was and the French exploited this to the full. Then in 2003 after being the tied leading try scorer in the super 12 was left out of the world cup squad. Severely limiting the attacking prowess and  experience of the side. Dumb dumb dumb. Cullen has to rank at the top on his day he could tear any defence apart. Sean Fitzpatrick nicnamed him crowbar 'cos that's what it took to get the ball out of his hands, and he bench pressed more than anyone in the All Blacks. And even not on his day he was a h**l of a defender.

  6. There is only one answer and its need no explanation - CHRISTIAN CULLEN

  7. If you ask most rugby experts, they would just about all agree on "Christian Cullen". No one could do what he could on the rugby field!! Plus he has many records to boot!

Should never have been dropped from ABs. Coach Jon Mitchell just didn't like him! Dweeb!

  8. Best current world fullback?

Gotta be Mils Muliaina, eh? Jeez that boy got the moves

  9. The reason Cullen was basically dumped from the Ab's was because that pathetic excuse for a fullback Leon McDonald was Robbie Deans "special" boy and Robbie obviously had to much sway!

Worst thing that ever happen to NZ rugby was losing such a great fullback!

  10. Don Clarke (NZ) excellent kicker

George Nepia (NZ) played in the invincible's tour so couldn't have been too bad.

JPR Williams (Wal) was with Wales during their golden era

  11. 1.Serge Blanco -Big, Fast, Strong, Good Defender, Great Under High Ball, Excellent Captain, Prototype for ever modern fullback

2.Chris Latham - Freakish ability in attack, Massive left foot kick, Strong in the Air.

    3. Christian Cullen - Electric Pace and Footwork, Should never have been moved to 13 by AB selectors, Average in defence and with boot.

  12. Christian Cullen from NZ.  He has one of the best try scoring records to this day.

  13. Andre Joubert, South Africa
