  1. regular unleaded is what ford recommends.

  2. Unless you have an Explorer limited with the 5.0L engine they take '87 octane regular unleaded. Don't let anybody talk you into anything else. It will just be a waste of money. Your gas mileage will not be any better with premium. Run a can of injector cleaner through it about once a month and you will be fine.

2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive makes no difference in the type of fuel used. The engines are all the same.

  3. Regular Unleaded is all that is required, but you can always treat your car to something nice; Premium Unleaded may boost hp or performance figures a bit, but it is an unnecessary cost that you probably don't want to pay now with rising gas prices.

Or you could ruin your car and give it non-unleaded gas. :)

  4. Some cars will run better with mid-grade, but it may be different within the same model of car.  My dad works for an electric company and they run nothing but mid-grade and they put about 250,000 miles on their trucks before they sale them.  So i think there is something to it, but I don't have the money to spend on mid grade, but I do notice a little better performance when I do.  Run a tank of each and see if there is a noticeable difference in performance, if no regular is fine, and is fine anyway.

  5. if you are ( 4x4)  ford explorer  some used regular unleaded

.(usually they used Premium unleaded) but because the gas going up we need to change the Gas.   but there is another way you can do.USED MEDIUM UNLEADED. to used the regular unleaded you might have some problem in future.
