  1. Ground sirloin is the best. Hamburger differs by the fat content, which should be on the label. If you are BBQ'ing them, it is better to have about10-15% fat otherwise they will dry out.

  2. There's ground beef and ground chuck.  Ground chuck has less fat.  It's more expensive, but a better grade of beef.

  3. No no no no. Get regular hamburger about 80% it has more fat and thus more flavor. Cook it on med on a grill. About 5min per side. Also when molding your burger press your thumb in the center, this will allow the burger to expand when cooking. That way when it is cooking you do not press the burger down and let the juices out. According to Bobby Flay. It works great and the burgers are nice and juicy.

  5. no, hon!! hamburger is for sure ground beef, but some of it is much much leaner than other.

Get the absolute leanest you can find or afford. Even if you have to brush your pan with some oil it is much preferable to cooking half the burger off as grease and winding up dumping it on the dog's dinner or in the trash.

For the extra $$ spent on the really lean burger, you will waste much less of it. When cooking it, you would otherwise dump half the pound of burger and only have half a pound in your, say, meatloaf. Wouldn't you much rather have nine tenths of a pound in the meatloaf??

Besides the ground sirloin will be a much better tasting burger.
