  1. hey xfireboyx49408, not all fourteen girls only know about the current NHL.

and i would most-definatley agree with him. if someone else didnt say it, i would have. that team was amazing and unstoppable, and had players that made hockey. best team, no doubt.

  2. The 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens.

  3. The '88 Oilers weren't too shabby, either. They'd lost Coffey by then but, the addition of Simpson up front gave them even more fire-power, while shoring up their defensive zone.

If Gretzky hadn't been moved, that team would have been good for another 3 cups in the next five years.

  4. 1956-1960 Canadiens de Montreal :) and also the 1976-1977 team

  5. I researched this quesion and it specifically said that the best NHL team was the 1953-1954 RedWings.

  6. 2002 red wings

  7. I gotta agree with you on the Oilers. They were so dominant.  And now that they have a salary cap, I don't think there will be another team quite like them, except the Pens. But it will still be hard for the Pens or any other team to accomplish what the oilers did in the middle and late 80's

  8. 1997 Redwings with the Russian 5.

  9. 2001 Avalanche

  10. 2001 Colorado  Avalanche

    1980 US Olympic Hockey Team

(not only based on skill bur for what they did for the United State's hope)

  11. 1967 toronto maple leafs hahahaha

    2007 anaheim ducks

  12. according to many sources such as sports illustrated and nhl.com, the 1951-1952 detroit redwings were the best team ever assembled.

I know that this isn't going to be popular on yahoo answers, because this place is filled with wing's haters... and 14 year old girls that only see the current nhl... but look at their roster:

    Gordie Howe,

    Terry Sawchuck,

    Ted Lindsay,

    Sid Abel,

    Alex Delvecchio.

they only lost 14 regular season games and were undefeated in the playoffs...

  13. 1994 Vancouver Canucks

  14. Any Canadiens teams from the 50's or 70's.

  15. I have to agree with the Jailer about the 97 Red Wings with the Russian Five.  Anybody who saw them play was amazed by them.

  16. The 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens.  Highest point total in NHL history, scored 200 hundred more goals than there opponents, and won the Stanley Cup with little resistance.

  17. The 1987 Canadian Canada Cup team.  Hall of Famers playing on the 4th line, Lemieux and Gretzky up front, Coffey on the blueline, Fuhr in net.  Best ever.
