  1. PASTA! It's simple and what do you think of when you think of a romantic restraunt? ITALIAN!!

Cook some raw shrimp in a pan with olive oil and a little butter and pepper and some garlic.

Get some penne pasta and just boil it in water. When everything is done, toss some sauce in the pasta and put it on a plate and put the shrimp on top. Sprinkle some chopped basil. Light some candles and some wine and there you go!

Ido this all the time. It's easy, cheap and wont take more than 20 mins.

  2. Romance can be created with a fragrance, a look, music, candles, a revealing top, nibbling on a lower lip.....sooooo.....for your romantic dinner, focus on the atmosphere and mood you're trying to create and indulge!  A nice bottle of wine, or a favored cocktail, good food, sultry music, and candles all set the stage.  For food?  Here are some easy menu ideas:

    Menu I:

Shrimp Cocktail (salad shrimp or prawns, bottled cocktail sauce, lemon wedges)

    Grilled ribeye steaks

    Roasted potatos

Green Salad with crumbled feta cheese and Italian dressing

    Chocolate mousse

    Menu II:

Bruschetta with olive tapenade and manchega cheese (crositini topped with premade olive tapenade and a slice of manchega cheese, broiled until cheese melts)

Linguini tossed with artichoke hearts, shaved parmesan, olive oil and lemon zest

    Roasted chicken

Sliced heirloom tomatos with Italian vinagrette

    Menu III:

    Pork Roast

    Mashed Potatos

    Fresh Green Beans

    Apple Pie

    Menu IV:

    Pork Chops

    Applesauce

    Roasted sweet potatos

    Asparagas

    Creme De Menthe sundaes

    Anyway...good luck!

  3. How about a Stouffer's lasagna, family size, with some warm, crusty, French or Italian bread with herbed butter, and a tossed salad with your favorite dressing?  If you warm the bread in a dampened brown paper bag in the oven (around 300 degrees) until the bag is dry, it really improves the flavor of the bread.  Serve with wine.

  4. peanut butter & jelly sandwiches in the nude.

  5. It HAS to end with chocolate - a real mood enhancer.

Presentation on the plate would be important too. (Like don't just serve it from the pan ;]) And because presentation is important it is helpful to have some different textures and esp. different colors on the plate. Don't have everything the same color (like steamed cauliflower, mashed potatoes and baked fish on a plain white plate.)  Things that go well with wine glasses - like a lot of Italian foods. Foods that are rich without being overly filling - again Italian or Greek. Finger fruits - things like grapes and strawberries that can be eaten with your fingers. (Not things like a half of a grapefruit, for example.) And of course candles - but not scented ones or they'll fight with the food odor. Avoid smelly foods too like boiled cabbage or tuna fish or liver and onions. Things that you can sprinkle cheese on top look exotic and rich. And the smell of bread baking adds a heavenly aroma, and you can achieve that by buying a loaf of frozen bread and cooking it following package directions.
