Planning to take a friend to Brick Lane. What is your favourite Indian restaurant there?

Also, any fun attraction in the area (besides Spitafield Market)?

  1. There is loads to eat and doin that part of london...

  2. Not a restaurant as such, but the Sweet And Spicy cafe about halfway down is wonderful. Self service, great food and big portions.

Sadly many of the restaurants on Brick Lane itself are not so good these days, the better ones are up the sidestreets leading off.

  3. ARE you sure about that?

  4. London is full of attarctions and once there nowhere is too far.

    River cruise is cheap.

London eye for £15 per person

    London tour bus

Brick lane - there are so many restaurants there and it's a little difficult to say which is the best one... It will all depend on how much you want to spend The prices range from £50 for two people to around £200 depending on how what you order / drink etc

  5. I had lunch at the Preem and Prithi Balti House several times and have never been disappointed. I have eaten at the Prithi side (on the left; there is a Preem side across the street). The chef prides himself on using less oil and cooking lower fat Indian - always a good thing in my book. I've taken friends there and everyone always has good things to say.

I haven't done anything else in the area aside from the markets (Spitalfields, Petticoat Lane, and the Brick Lane Sunday Up Market), so can't really comment on that except that there's alot going on in the area on Sundays. The last link below has a listing of other interesting things to see and do in the area.

  6. Bengal Cuisine on Brick Lane is by far (in my opinion) the best Indian restaurant within that area. The restaurant has nice decor and there is always a good atmosphere. The food is great and i think the restaurant has won numerous awards.
