Best internet without having a landline?

Question

Everyone in my family has a cellphone and we have no use for a home phone (we're paying right now about $200 a month). I wanted to know what would be the best internet provider to get without a landline and without cable (as we dont really watch or have time for tv).

I keep reading things about Vonage and WiFi and what not, but I dont know what those things are.

If someone could clear up the confusion about what the different internet options are and which one would be best for me (without needing a landline or cable) and how much would it cost...

Most cable companies will sell  you Internet access without TV channels. That's what I have with Comcast.  They WILL try to talk you into getting TV, of course, but just say no.

Another option is a satellite or terrestrial wireless ISP, but bandwidth on those is pretty limited.

Just search on "satellite internet" or "wireless ISP" and you'll get tons of hits.

Most Wildblue customers I talk to are very happy with the customer service.  Just don't expect cable speeds!
