  1. I don't think Rome is good for young children.

I would listen to Martox45, he lives there and knows. I think children the age of yours would like the shore.

    Martox gives good advice.

  2. Sorry but can't agree with the previous answers since big city's or overloaded beach resorts are not the ideal place with small children nor relaxing. I'd recommend you the beautyful Tuscany. Lovely spots with family-friendly small Hotels/Guesthouses/Appartments.

  3. rome

  4. In Summer:

    Riccione

    Jesolo

    Rimini

    In spring and in autumn:

    Rome

    Venice

    Florence

  5. I propose you just seaside resorts. I guess with 3 children you will be not coming here to visit towns and museums. I must say that for me and my family holidays have always meant "seaside". I'm just living in the countryside of Tuscany and also here it could be awesome but I'm sure yr 2 first children (the youngest third can not yet complain...!!) would be bored just after a few days. Mostly of the resorts I'm suggesting are not so overcrowded mainly if you can choose and you're not coming here by end July/early August.

That's only a matter of taste and other people will be able to suggest you different sites. Anyway these are my tips:

If you are on a budget I suggest you the sandy beaches of the east coast in the region of Marche or even better Abruzzo.

Villages like Numana, Civitanova Marche, Porto s.Giorgio.

Just on the border with Abruzzo you can go to San Benedetto del Tronto. In Abruzzo try Alba Adriatica and Giulianova Lido or Pineto. Down to the south some place in Puglia as Torre Canne and Ostuni. Still in Puglia Gallipoli has nice beaches.

In Calabria nice beaches at Capo Vaticano, Soverato and Crotone

On the west coast, proceding to the North and suitable for small children (sandy beach and not too deep water),you can try Tropea, Scalea (a bit rocky)and Maratea.

Formia and Terracina (I've been there long ago, I'm not aware abt. possible water pollution- Take more info here; all previous sites have rather clean waters).

Porto S.Stefano, Capalbio, Marina di Grosseto, Marina di Cecina, Follonica, S.Vincenzo and the exclusive and expensive Punta Ala.

Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi (great night lifetime there but also ok for children- beaches are awesome while water is not that clean) Both are also rather expensive due to the huge offer of amusements.

I've never been northern than here but I know there are nice spots with beach in Santa Margherita, Rapallo, Diano Marina, Loano, Imperia and Savona.

I've for sure forgot a few names but above listing it's just from my mind and it's not so easy for me to remember all the places where I've been.
