  1. There are so many so the majority of them will be fantastic as they have to deal with a lot of competition and in order to stay in business, you must be competitive.  Another good idea always is to get word of mouth recommendations....good luck!

  2. I am a former chef and worked in Toronto and had alot of friends who ran or own Italian place, Massimo Capra's places are always a good bet, along College between Bathurst and Ossington there are a number of nice places and Sicilian Ice Cream is there from a nice dessert this time of year.

There are alot around town and depending on what region of Italy you prefer, I would go on the the City Pages by YellowPages, to the Toronto bars and restuarants area and check out there listings, see if there is one close to you, if you do choose one, make sure to make a reservation, some places fill up fast especially on Fridays and the weekend nights.

  3. Acqua:

It's a good place, the crowd is mostly businesspeople and tourists, but the food is nice (if a little pricey). The fish and the oysters are particularly tasty. There's a huge wine menu, if you like wine. It's not a very warm atmosphere, since it's styled like a Manhattan restaurant. Basically, it's a decent place to go, it won't be disappointing, but it's not very special or unique.

    Pizzailolo:

If you're talking about the Pizzailolo chain of gourmet pizza restaurants, I think you could do better! It hasn't been reviewed at all, which isn't a very good sign. I've heard their pizza is good and affordable too, but if you want to check out an Italian place, why not walk through Little Italy?

A good guide to Little Italy (it's downtown) http://www.where.ca/toronto/article_feat...

Now Toronto's suggestions for the best Italian restaurants (choose "Italian" in the "type" dropdown):

Really though, I suggest you wander through Little Italy...it's a really lovely neighbourhood packed with nice, classy restaurants (lots with outdoor patios, nice in the summer) and after dinner you can go to one of the many gelato or ice cream places.

    Best of luck!
