Question:

Best jobs for those of the "anti-social" persuasion?

I've really struggled with finding (and not quitting) jobs within the past 3 years. I've done everything from working with children with special disabilities to working at a call center. More recently I've found it difficult to stay at a job for more than a month. I find myself dreading going into work so much that my anxiety seeps into other parts of my life. I don't mind school, but for some reason I can't just bite the bullet like everyone else and get a job. Any suggestions? Am I just looking for jobs that aren't suited for my personality?

  1. Restaurant kitchens are said to be a haven for the anti-social.

  2. Definitely try working from home. I work from home and it really is the way to go.

There is a booklet available on the site below (No. 6 on the list) and it may give you a few ideas to start you off.  Also join their mailing list as there are always offers coming up.

    Best of luck.

  3. I'm going through therapy because I'm 28 and can't keep a job.  They also have anxeity meds.  Unfortunetly, unless you own your own buisness there's no real way to avoid dealing with people.  Trust me, I'm not be a smart alec, the therapy and medication really help me.  Call around and see if any psychicatrists do things on a sliding scale if you're worried about money.  There's lots of help out there.  Good luck.

  4. Oh wow I could have written this myself! I am a job-hopper for sure and have found I am always looking for jobs that involve customer service and I am not really a people person. Maybe you could try something that doesn't involve working with many people like a data-entry job or a job that has to do with computers. Good luck!

  5. You sound so like my 23 yo daughter, just what she was saying to me the other day, word for word!  That said,  what about mail carrier especially rural carrier.
