Any television experience is subjective.  The best way to judge a TV is to get out there and view them for yourself.  If you are looking for a few good models to choose from I would recommend the sony kdl32xbr6, or the the samsung ln32a550.

Probably a Sony Bravia. They have excellent Bit quality and high contrast ratios. (But they are pricey) around $1500.00 (AUS).
