Question:

Best location for a towel bar?

I've recently remodeled my main floor 1/2 bath, exchanging the vanity for a pedestal sink. The bathroom is very small and the location of the toilet relative to the sink makes for a difficult reach for a towel hanging over the toilet on the bar I have already installed there. I'd install a towel ring on the wall to the left of the sink, but there's a light and fan switch as well as an electrical outlet there and the ring will have to be so high that it will look funny. I'm wondering if there is a towel bar or ring that can be easily attached to the pedestal sink itself. I've found a plastic self-adhesive towel bar, but I don't like how it looks. I've also found a curved towel bar designed specifically for pedestal sinks, but it mounts to the wall and my 2 year old daughter would have that one ripped out of the wall within one day of installing it. Also, it only comes in chrome. My faucet is nickel. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

  1. Do you have room on the back of the door?

  2. Have you tried a freestanding towel bar.

  3. I found this product while searching the web last week and ordered one.  Just got it and it looks and works great.  If you have the right type of pedestal sink, it should be the type of towel bar you're looking for.  www.thetoweltender.com
