Bonds in general are not the greatest of investments during times of inflation and we are currently in one of those times, but it is generally accepted knowledge that bonds should make up from 25% to 75% on ones portfolio depending on the relative value of stocks according to Ben Graham.  He might suggest about 40% bonds currently since stocks have a ways further to drop maybe a good ways.

    Here is one fund that might appeal to you GIM,  a closed end bond fund that has outperformed most stocks funds during the last 10 years. Current dividend rate is 5.68%.  Ten year annual return is over 11.7%


  2. I would not put my money in any of them right now, but if i had to pick, it would be: Infrastructure and Commodities.
