Best low budget start up buisness??

Have a friend who has started up with 10,000 euros (around £7,000) and made himself a nice little business running an internet cafe with call cabins in Spain. He's turning over a profit of between 4,000-6,000 euros a month. Not great i know, but it was a very small start up & it does give him a regular income and the chance to borrow more money and invest it in a bigger business opportunity. And now he's thinking of opening a small bar aswell..

I am thinking of doing the same, but is an internet cafe (in Spain) really a good "stepping stone" start up business to get you starting working for yourself instead of someone else?...

Or is there any other better start ups with a very small start up investment?

(* I have lived in Spain, and i speak spanish fluently so please no answers with regards to how hard it is to move to another country, etc.. as i have already lived there!...just interested in peoples opinions on the best small start up businesses!

  1. I work form home for just 4 hours per week but still earn more than I would in the corporate sector and can spend all of my extra time with my daughter.

  2. Hi friend. Ur question is very genuine and a real life problem, let me solve this one 4 u.  It seems that  dont have much money to invest. I suggest u to start up with a business having low setting up cost and based on ur skills. The time for Internet cafe is gone. As the profit margins are low, and people have Laptops, Hi fi mobile phones etc.

U could look for a consultancy business, like u could deal in leasing, buying selling of real estate, U need only a small clean office where u can meet ur clients, U can get the data from Newspapers, and u could place ur own advertisements in paper.U can keep some profit or charge commisssion from both the parties.

This business doesnt involve any expenses, only ur time and attention, yet u could move around and get ur work on ur mobile phone. No investment required.

Meanwhile, u could save money, keep looking 4 opportunities, and who knows tomorrow, where destiny takes u.Just Dream Big and Do ur best. God bless u.

  3. Your biggest problem right now is transferring money from the pound to the euro. The pound is falling against the Euro. If you are intending on moving money from the UK here to Spain you will get less euros for your pound. This is not the time to be investing in Spain. In 6 months the pound has fallen (commercial rates) from €1.45 to the pound to €1.30 to the pound. That is about 10% less money in euros.

€10,000 used to equal £6,700. Today €10,000 equals £7,400. That means a loss of £700 before you even get here.
