you are going after point and shoot cameras , check Kodak Z series , Panasonic Lumix , forget megapixel  , actually 7MP are more then enough , look for good optical zoom at least 5x , check ISO , digital stabilizer ( shooting moving objects or if your hands are real shaky ) internal memory and what kind of flash memory it uses and supports (SD , MMC , SDHP)
