I've  got an old (1980ish) Palmetto Armory clone in a pre a-1 upper.  I love it and I shoot the cheapest ammo I can get and it eats it up!! some times I get ftf but its always on the next to  the last round in a 30rnd mag.  being pushed by a GRAY follower.  Never w/ a green follower  though.

Colt & bushmaster are probably the best but i like high standards AR-15's

I bought a Colt Sporter back in '88. Fairly low serial number. I have NEVER had any kind of problem with it.

I like Bushmaster. I have a few personally owned and a few on inventory. Excellent firearms and super warranty but I have never sent one back for anything.

You are going to get a lot of different answers because there are so many AR manufacturers.

If you are interested in AR 15's you should check out AR 15.com there is so much info there it'll help you make some choices.

Personally I have a Rock River Arms AR. I don't think it's "the best" but it's a very very good rifle and has given me no problems what so ever.

I desided on the Smith and wesson M&P 15, awesome gun, but I broke it down and compared it with a bushmaster and they are just about exactly the same.
