Best material for under a trampoline?

Obviously not grass, can't mow, just a mess. What other ideas would be good?

I would think that a good choice would be the recycled rubber  chips that they use at childrens playgrounds.

metal spikes....getting seriousi would like grass but since you dont then i will say a bunch of soft dirt so it wont hurt... but thats just me...

Go to a store like Lowe's, Home Depot, or Menards and get a rubber mat.

We had black plastic with wood mulch on top of the plastic so now weeds or grass.  Also, use some dog twist in tie downs and some cable to anchor the trampoline, ours blew over our house during a windstorm.
