Question:

Best method of getting rid of stage fright?

I googled it everywhere. Nothing works. My symptoms are heart beating really fast, sweaty hands, shaky hands, and my voice gets incredibly shaky too. This only really happens when I have to do a speech or a monologue. I fight through it most of the time, but you can still definitely tell how nervous I am.

Any home remedies? Or some tricks that work for you?

  1. thats part of acting!!!

you have to really be the character and be in the setting and pretend no one there is watching you just picture the scene and be completely commited to it!!

i used to get nervous really bad and it always hendered my performance thats why i try to take every opportunity to audition even if im not interested in the play or commercial or whatever because i get the chance to audition the less nervous i get everytime

a lot of actors are terrible at auditions no one really does as great at auditions as the do in performances so just do auditions an performances as much as possible because that will give you a chance to get used to the feeling of performing

    best of luck!! happy dreaming!!

  2. Most actors and speakers have some degree of stage fright or nervousness before going on. It's a good thing. It keeps you vibrant and ready for anything.

One good way to prepare yourself is to remember that the people who will be watching you and hearing you are with you, not against you. They want to hear what you have to say, they want to see you perform and/or act just for them, they're in your corner.

Then when you walk out there, it's like a reunion, not an ordeal. The moment you step out and begin they are yours--you're giving yourself as a gift to those folks, and they're ready to receive whatever you give them.

  3. I think its normal. I get that way for speeches, and big auditions. But I just smile, and act like nothing is wrong, and normally it turns out okay. I think its also just getting used to it. :]

  4. just pretend everybody is in their underwear trust me ull have a big smile on ur face and ull be good to go

  5. The best remedy for stage fright is preparation! The more prepared you are the more confident you will feel and the less stage fright you will have.

Also, the more you do something the easier it will be....but it's ok to feel a bit excited when you are in front of people..that is perfectly natural!

  6. I get the same exact way. My voice and body shake and I feel like I'm going to hurl. There's a different cure for everyone. Once you practice performing in front of a small group a few times, go up and try again. If you practice your monologue and know you are good at it, you wont have to worry. Think about how when other people go up, you dont really care how they do, you're too nervous about yourself! But they're the same way! They only care how they do, so if you mess up a little, they probably wont even notice. Be confident! Good luck. Hope this helps!
