I need to know which minor would go best with the electrical engineering major? Could someone list the pros & cons of each?

THANKS

  1. Math would be the best since there will be plenty of it to come your way. Scientists and engineers use a lot of math, which is why I recommend math the most.

Physics would also be a great idea since you need to know a lot of it. Engineering is mostly based off of physics after all. You might end up taking useless classes though.

Chemistry would be a waste of time.

  2. I'd approach it a different way.

My supervisor once told me to do the courses you are interested in because you will pick up the knowledge you need for your work anyway in the course of your work.

Similar would be to simply ask yourself "What do you want to do for the rest of your working life?"

Engineering has a wide variety of work & roles.

I spend my day doing maths in signal processing. That would bore some fine engineers to tears.

Some guys I work with like nothing better than to build stuff.

Maths works for me: I'm guessing robotics would use more physics & maths than chemistry.

Not quite answering your question, but imaging for a moment that you're going to be good at this & will have some choices about which area you go into & what you do.  What do you see yourself doing?
