I don't want to spend more than £150 and would rather but from a reputable store or company. Does anyone know the best mens bike for this amount?

  1. I agree with the above. You're going to end up with some heavy frame with components that'll fall apart and need constant adjustment. Stay away from Halfords' own brands like Apollo..

I'd go look around some 2nd hands stores/pawn shops etc or even eBay for a deal.

I'm not as up to date on MTBikes as I am on road bikes, so from what I remember, Marin, Specialized, Kona,  Trek, Scott and Cannondale make really good MTBikes

  2. depends what you want the bike for, at this price they are only good for general knocking about, not serious mtb action, so as long as you know the limitations there are plenty at this price point.

Your local bike shop should have some thing and will provide back up, dont be tempted to buy rubbish boxed bikes for home assembly if you dont know what you are doing.

  3. Perhaps ex-hire from ur local bike shop or second hand not a c**p cheep 1 from halfords or argos

  4. TBH mate , all mountain bikes around that price are rubbish, your best trying to get hold of a second hand bike, a good one, just sold for a cheaper price
