Best nyc bus to take 59th and3rd to 59th and 10th?

i am having trouble figuring out which cross town bus to take, some start in midtown east and then go to the upper west.

i just want to go straight east to west in midtown.

My friend, you will need to walk south 2 blocks to 57th Street and 3rd Avenue, and take either the M31 or M57 bus westbound to 10th Avenue.

Once at 57th Street and 10th Avenue, walk north 2 blocks to 59th Street and 10th Avenue.

The closest crosstown bus is on 57th street.  For the most part, crosstown buses are designated Mxx where xx is the main street of travel.  You want the M57
