Best oil type for 2.7 intrepid?

i dont have the owners manual.

and ive heard synthetic oil will slow down the engine problem w\ the 2.7L. but what kind should i get? i live on the east coast

if its flex fuel it is required synthetic by chrysler

yes the 2.7 is know for sludge issues in the intreped, not so in a stratus/sebring. According to my dealer. But i was looking at a sebring at the time.  Chrysler supposedly fixed that prob about 2003. frequent oil changes is the best defense.  mobile 1 is a good oil

This is one of the so called sludge engines, synthetic oil will prevent sludge. First link talks about the 2.7 l sludge problems.

I would go with Mobil 1, 5-30 or 10-30, readily available, comes as factory oil on many luxury, high end sports cars.
