There are many on-line colleges.  Even the standard state universities and most private ones will offer the option of taking classes "on-line."

Cannot give you a good recommendation, without knowing what field you are studying.  Each college does better or worse depending on the field.  Each college builds up sort of a reputation, based on quality of it's graduates.

For that reason, those with highest standards on admission, generally give better performance, and feedback, and their final "diploma" will mean something.

If the on-line college is "easy" to enroll, and has few requirements, but only wants your application and fees, then it probably doesn't have a good reputation, because it's graduates may be more inferior, or their diploma not worth the paper it's stamped on.

Be careful, and get stats on number of graduates per enrollment, that explains in part the quality of service.
