I used to straddle (buy puts and calls) on stocks set to split, hoping for a big run either up or down - enough to cover the one set to expire worthless.

Of course, if that worked every time - I'd be on TV giving advise.

Vericals, straddles, strangles & covered calls are the most popular. I also like Iron Condors & Double Double.
