My partner will be a qualified auto refinisher at the end of the year, were thinking of moving countrys for better pay ( we currently live in new zealand) and were finding it hard to find any infomation on the net about pay rates for aualified auto refinishers, hes qualified in heavy commercial vehicle painting and normal cars. Were willing to move anywhere the money is tops.

We are looking more at european countries, zurich, belgium denmark, geneva . we are defintly not going to move to the usa, sorry guys but all the terrioist stuff givs me the Sh*tz! lol. we like our style of living in new zealand just unfortunatly we are a little country & were not heading in a very good financial way....

  2. Firstly I would suggest you check out Europe first - see what is a town/city and which is a country, and which cities are even in the same country!

Secondly before you look at rates of pay (not being an expert but I can hardly imagine it is going to be a position which commands a higher rate of pay in Europe that it does in NZ), check if you need a visa

This kind of position is something which does not fall under the highly skilled migrant possibilities, and as such, unless you or your partner have a EU passport or a family connection which will allow you to possess one, then you will find it virtually impossible to obtain one even if you find a job via the internet (which is unlikely as nowadays most/all jobs advertised in English will state that the applicant must be eligable (working visa or EU/EEA passport) to even apply

Also look at what languages do you speak?  Again this is not a commerical position in which companies have the working language of English (apart from the fact that to live in a non-English speaking country you will have to speak the language anyway).  If English is your only language then your opportuntities are limited to the UK and Ireland.  The UK's ecomomy is most definately on the slide so I suppose this is not your desired country either which essentially leaves you with Ireland

Check with the Irish embassy in NZ (usually they have a website anyway) and check the requirements to see if it will be viable for you both.  If so, then you can start to look for the rates of pay, but first do a little homework

  3. We are looking more at european countries

    zurich, belgium, denmark, geneva

    says everything.
