I can tell you that the most profitable jobs on St. Thomas are service industry jobs, especially now that the tourist season is about to kick off again.  We do have a public hospital here but I'd advise you to look at something private practice.  If you're looking for something a bit more secure you can try looking for work with the VI Government, but I must warn you that it takes some time for a callback.  Here are some links to get you started:
