Hi! My friends are coming to Houston, and we want to go to Indian Buffet! I live in 77006, and work in 77074. We are poor! We're college students who live on our own and work full time. Helpful suggestions would be awesome!

  1. Indika is the best in 77006, but alas, it is not a buffet.  Most all of the cities major Indian buffets cost around $20-$30 per person, not good for students.  If I were you I'd check out the little places on Hillcroft that don't advertise, I bet you'll find a great place among them.

  2. I've been to two Indian buffets in Houston. One was great, and the other was not. Problem is, you'd find the great buffet (Nirvana on Memorial, lunch only) too expensive if you're poor students. There's another place on Beltway 8 at 59 that was cheap, had lots of selection, but really wasn't that good at all.

try the Hillcroft/Fondren area between 59 and Westheimer. Tons of Indian restaurants there. I'm sure there are buffets. I don't normally eat at Indian buffets, preferring a menu most often.

  3. Hilcroft...has great indian food and shopping. You should check it out. You could just drive around and stop at places to eat and see what they have. I know there is a great place with a good buffett. I can't remember the name, but it's in a shopping plaza with Roop's Sari's or something like that.

  4. Shiva Indian Restaurant
