I'm travelling over to Glasgow soon, and I would really like to go to a traditional Ceilidh, with Scottish Country Dance, that I really like to dance. Are there any good pubs/clubs etc. who can provide you a great Ceilidh in Glasgow?

Thanks.

  1. As Smartypants has said, Sloans Bar & Restaurant have a ceildh every Friday night in the upstairs Grand Ballroom from 8pm. Chittery bite is the name of the band.

  2. There is a pub called Sloans which has started doing ceilidh nights.

The pub is up a strange old back lane right in the main shopping area of the city centre.

Also, the Riverside Club used to have ceilidh nights, but I'm not sure if it is still does.   Worth giving them a call when you're in town to see what's on.

  3. Unfortunately Ceilidhs are mainly during the Christmas time or at wedding there are very few places that hold ceilidhs regularly. Generally ceilidhs are organized in halls in celebration and for someone not local to Scotland it would be quite hard as i could imagine to find these places however many kilt fitters and tourist information centres could probably supply you with insight although it would be hard to plan the event beforehand.
