Best place (in australia) to get car insurance???

hey ive just finally bought a car now i want full comprehensive insurance weres the best place to go through? like aami,racq,nrma,real....etc thank you.

what do you consider to be the 'best'?

if you mean 'cheapest price' then you have to ring around, but remember, the price of cover is often based on how extensive the cover is.

if you mean best overall cover, then you need to ask yourself:

do you want hire vehicle after an accident?

do you want free glass repairs?

do you want any other driver to be able to use the car?

do you want to be able to take your car to the repairer of your choice?

do you want personal items inside the vehicle insured?

do you want market value or 'agreed' value?

all of these things are different options insurance companies have and they usually all affect the price.  some companies offer these options as standard whereas others allow you to pick and choose the options, usually at a price.

you need to work out what it is that you want from your insurance cover in the event of an accident and go from there.
