Best place in paris?

ok.

FINALLY my parents are talking about it. and I decided to go to Paris. could all of you fellow travelers help me?!

I need a nice, affordable (so we have enought money to shop) hotel, and tourist ideas.

if you know of any neat places not really in town, more out of the way, that would be nice if you listed them :))

oH! PLEASE also list stores to go to, things to try, and what should I pack?!

we may be leaving before school starts back up in August. :)

DO NOT rent a car. it's just ridiculous since the best sight seeing is done while walking your way to the subway or whatever. besides, there's not much parking space in europe.

stores, go to champs elysees.. you can't miss it..

If you know who The Doors are, ex: Light My Fire, Break on Through... go visit Jim Morrison's grave. Its really cool looking. I don't know where it is in Paris, but it's a big destination for classic rock fans. You should be able to find it easy on the internet.
