I am looking for a great place to go to eat in cleveland that isnt too expensive but also something locals crave and brag about. The type of place you bring out of towners. Me and my gf will be staying 5 miles outside and need a good lunch spot. Any ideas?

  1. West Side Market Cafe-located inside the historic West Side Market. They have great reasonably priced food. If you like fish, the fresh Lake Erie Walleye is a good pick.

  2. Lola's is on the expensive side. Try Nighttown in Cleveland heights. They have a beautiful outside eating area and the food is delicious.

  3. Lola--you must go. Hurry!

  4. If you like home style Italian food, I suggest Maggiano's.  It is a chain restaurant, but, you won't be disappointed.  The food is great and the portions are huge.  The menu is vast, and the service is terrific, very attentive.  You can order individually, however, if you have a group of more than 4, I suggest ordering family style.  They serve your group 2 appetizers, 2 salads, 2 pasta dishes, 2 entree's, & 2 deserts!  You can't beat it.

  5. The Great Lakes Brewing company is good.  They have great micro brew beers as well as other bar food.  Another perk, it's right next door to the Cleveland film society and in the window they have the notorious leg lamp from the movie "A Christmas Story".  The movie was filmed in Cleveland although it was set in Pittsburgh.  You can tour the house from the movie if you're interested.

  6. If you like mexican food--try Luchita's--it has the best mexican food--doesnt look that great from the outside but it is soooo good and they have a bar there also.  I would also recommend Shooter's downtown--it is right by the water and has a great nightlife.
