Question:

Best place to exchange Euros for dollars in USA?

I've been living in Europe and am returning home to the U.S. this week. I have cash Euros I will be bringing back with me because no one (landlord, etc.) wants to pay to transfer them into my American bank account. My bank tells me they do not exchange currency, and I cannot deposit them into my account. They suggested going to the Federal Reserve Bank.

Is this really the best way? I know I can do it at the airport, but are their fees particularly bad?

  1. The AIRPORT. They may charge a small fee, but do it at the airport unless it's for a large sum of money (not sure if the airport will do huge sums).
