  1. Mangialardo's hands down, 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue  South East, down on the right side.  All the cops and FBI get their sub sandwiches there, have for almost 50 years.

Make sure you order the G-man on a hard roll with those little Pepporicini Peppers, as a retired d.c. cop I still make trips down there to this day from Northern Virginia, now that you mentioned it, will be going down today for a couple.

  2. Inside of Union Station is a food court in the basement. Here's a few sandwich places

    New York Deli

    Cajun Grill

    Vittorio's

    Acropolis

    Great Wraps

    Upstairs

    Au Bon Pain

    Near Union

    Capital City Brewing Company

    Dubliner (Irish Pub)

  3. Subway or Blimpie. Look for your nearest one in a GPS or mapquest.com

  4. This is a little far from the capitol, but the Greek cafe Zorba's in Dupont Circle has a really good Philly cheesesteak.  It was seriously the best I ever had!

  5. The Clyde's restautants are great, Clyde's, 1789, The Tombs, Tomato Palace, Old Ebbitt, all are part of the same place.  Yum!

  6. i went up to DC the other day and actually had a great sandwich in the Museum of Natural History's cafe.  Expensive but it was really good.
