  1. Definately queensland, on the gold coast there are alot of them parks like dreamworld, movieworld, seaworld and wet n wild water parks, they are great cause you can swim around all day, and then they put a movie on at night, also north queensland is great, mission beach, airlie beach is spectacular and the water is just such a beautiful colour then theres all the islands off of it as well, and a bit further north there is the rainforests, they are awesome, some of the trees are thousands of years old, and the crime rate is alot lower in queensland than the southern states, and its cheaper accomodation wise as well, we have alot of backpacker hostels and that really helps keep the costs down, goodluck, and welcome to our beautiful country!!!

  2. The absolute best place to visit in Australia is The Whitsundays.  It is heaven on earth and the weather is perfect 24/7.

  3. Somewhere along the south-east coast of Queensland.

  4. There is lots to do in Australia and your question is very difficult to answer because each state has something different to offer.  It might be handy to decide what it is you want to see i.e. wildlife? architecture? natural attractions?  and then google that and Australia.

As you sound young I would suggest Melbourne in the state of Victoria as the place is very geared to tourists. Public transport is awesome and there are tourist information kiosks scattered throught the city.  Victoria has a lot to offer - cliffs, wineries, rainforest, mountains and wildlife. But it really depends on what you want to see!

The state of Queensland has lots to offer too - the beaches, the rainforest, the outback, Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo and stunning gorges to explore. Again, it depends on what you want to see!

Most of the states have their own tourist web sites such as tourism queensland etc.

Good Luck & enjoy your stay when you eventually get here.

  5. It all depends on what you are after in your holiday. Both Melbourne and Sydney are fantastic cities each very different from each other both gorgeous none the less. You also have the Gold Coast with its theme parks and tacky tourist venues. Kind of like your Florida. You have the Whitsundays and the Barrier Reef  and the Daintree forest,as well as central Australia and the north with its desserts and extreme but magical landscapes. It depends on what tickles your fancy.

As far as accommodation goes it depends on your budget but Hostels and Backpackers are quite cheap and a good way of meeting people. Some are better than others but there are many good sites on the web that you can look at.
