I am a federal government employee and am thinking about working overseas in Europe for a while. I was thinking of Italy, which would likely mean either Naples or Sicily. Which would be a better place to live? I am open to other European countries as well...suggestions??

  1. tuscany.

  2. My opinion is: move to Switzerland.

  3. Well it depends what your capability of adapting is...you might find it quite difficult in Naples or Sicily. Are you married? Do you have kids? I think one of the best places to live in Europe are in Spain or in Holland at the moment

If you are already in Europe why don't you go a weekend to Naples just in order to find out if you like it or not...Both Sicily and Naples are wonderful, but, as a Northern Italian I would my self have some difficulties in adapting - it is just a different style of life...I hope nobody gets offended by my statement...;-)

Good luck whatever your choice might be

  4. Italy is nice, but for work you should try northern Italy.  Naples (a city) and Sicily (a region) are both beautiful places to visit, but sadly there is a high unemployment rate in Southern Italy.  In fact, a lot of southerners go to the north or abroad to work.  If you want to go to Italy, I'd suggest northern Italy or Spain.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

I'm American, but live in Italy.

  5. I live in northern italy and its wonderful.  The people are friendly and culture is rich. The food is better in the north too. if I could live anywhere else it would be greece or holland.

  6. Since I'm half Italian I think Italy is the best place.  Business is really good there.  But it's really up to you.  Also Italy is really open on governement so that might help too.
