Best place to live in the uk ?

okay ive finished school and if i dont make it into university ill be moving away from home and looking for a job, was just wondering where there are nice places in the uk to live. soon as i get enough cash im off to america cos i hate what this country is becoming with the knife crime, illegal immigrants and whatnot lol

and you think the US doesnt have knife crime, illegal immigrants? ha! America is far worse than the UK for that kind of stuff. But albeit, I also love America. Rememebr to go to America you will need to get a visa if you are going for longer than a holiday unless you also want to be an illegal!

I currently live in Edinburgh, its a great city to live in, especially during August when the festival on. But there are loads of places in the UK that are nice to live in, what kind of things are you into, do you wanna be near a beach, city centre etc What kind of job are you looking for etc.

I have lived in newcastle,really enjoyed that place! Currently living near liverpool (where i was born) would move away but have 2 children who are settled.stoke on trent is a dump i wouldnt visit there never mind live!

Cumbria is a great place to live but there aren't many jobs except in the hotel industry.  Housing is in short supply too unless you are well off.  On the up side if you can find somewhere to live and a job there is little crime and no real problem with illegal immigrants, the air is clean, the scenery spectacular and the people friendly!

Perhaps you should look at moving to Canada instead of the US for all the reasons mentioned.

Its not easy to live and work in America if you don't have a visa, if you do work you'll also be a an illegal immigrant.

Also you say you want to leave the UK because of Knife crime and illegal immigrant but have you actually looked at whats going on in the States?? They have so many illegal immigrants, most coming from central american countries like Mexico, knife crime is huge out there and gun crime is worse.

If these are the main things that are causing you to want to leave then the States is far worse for these.

How about moving to NZ or OZ, they are better off, though crime and immigration are problems for all western countries.
