The better now are Archy (chamberí district), Pachá (alonso martínez), Gabana (velázquez) and Shabay (Eduardo Dato). Spanish people there. Alcohol drinks there cost you from 9-12 euros. There are other places, more for tourists like Joy Eslava (c/arenal, old center, close to Puerta del Sol), and Palacio de Gaviria.

Do not go to discos before 2 or 3 a.m. they are empty.

The best option is go for dinner (not before 22.00), then go for some drinks to smaller bars (here alonso martinez, malasaña, chueca, are the best option) and then go to the disco. Most are open until 6.45 am aprox.

(And a little secret: after discos close, there is a "clandestine" bar called Lady Pepas by a very small street close to San Mateo street (alonso martínez). It seems closed but it is open from 7.00 am. There you can have more drinks, eat spagettis, etc. People usually sing and dance with a guitar and a piano. It's fun! but secret shshs..) Enjoy!

best bars and clubs are around gran via and puerta del sol..u should check out the JOY club near puerta del sol..if u want a free entry to these clubs and bars get the little cards that people hand out on the street..bear in mind that spanish people dont go out till around midnight
