Best place to purchase a gun?

I am soon going to buy a semi-auto pistol, and my concerns is what would be the cheaper approach. the gun is going to be brand new, and ive been looking around for the best price. I went to several shops in my area and got a price range from like $570 - $620. i would obviously go with the cheaper seller. i also, looked around only and have come across the same gun with the price range like $550 - $635. what are the cost that one needs to pay when purchasing online, wont it be more expensive than buying it at a store in the end.

correct me if im run but arent the online charges...

1. the firearm fee or whatever around $20-$25

2. shipping fee (not sure of prices)

3. a fee from the FFL dealer you use to receive your transaction

tell me if i am missing anything or wrong, but i concluded the best deal would be going to the store, im also planning to go to a gun show in like 3 weeks, but with gun show aside, what is the best to do.

what are the additional charges from purchasing the gun online.

  1. I myself have purchased from Retail clubs and online

    www.auctionarms.com

    www.gunbroker.com

Ive had good experiences with both. It has usually cost me 20.00 to get the gun shipped and 20.00 for my FFL dealership to receive it.

Have you ever owned a gun before? If not make sure you go to a Range that rents out guns, and fire it before you purchase. You never know, the gun just might not feel right to you.

Although it is harder to return a gun when the seller is out of State.

  2. The best gun shop around is here in Southern Minnesota.

  3. off the street make sure you buy it from a gangster...umm hello stupid you can buy them at a gun library or bass pro shop

  4. Go to the closest large city near you. You should be able to find all kinda guns REAL cheap from some hoodlums.

  5. I have bought guns online before and the first thing that you have to do is run or call your local gun store and ask how much it'd cost for them to recieve a gun for you, paperwork and all.

The shipping will also be added to your total.  I have never heard of a "Firearm fee" so ... hmm

The best places that I have found online to buy guns are here:

    http://www.aimsurplus.com/

    http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index...

    http://www.firearmslocator.com/

If you have a gun that you would like to sale or trade, then by all means wait and go to the gun show first because you might be able to trade it in for the gun you want or sale the gun you have there and then take the cash from that sale to put forward to the gun that you want.

In your price range I have to suggest a Tikka T3 Rifle!

  6. revolvers are cheaper and cool. If you can limit ur carry to 6 bullets at a time, then go for revolver.

  7. In the end it's about the same. If I bought a wasr-10 for instance from JGsales by the time I'm done with taxes (I live in AZ and there based in AZ, we have a sales tax), shipping, and the tranfsfer fee I'm lookin at paying $500 anyway. $I30 in other c**p besides the gub itself. Also, gun costs vary a little with stores.

There is no fee when purchasing a gun directly from a gun store, only a transfer fee if buying online and having it shipped to an FFL holder.

  8. Bass Pro Shop is amazing its cheaper then you think!! Also you need a gun for huinting right?? Not for anything else ;)

  9. Bass Pro Shop

  10. This doesn't exactly answer your question, but one thing to keep in mind if you buy gun is what options you will have if there turns out to be something wrong with it after you get it.  If you buy from a local sporting goods store or gun store, you can probably return it to them and deal face to face with someone who will want to keep a potential future customer happy.

If you buy from some nomadic dealer at a show, or from a stranger over the internet, you may be out of luck if a problem with the gun arises, unless there is an applicable manufacturer's warranty, but even then you will have to ship the gun back and forth.

Note: Wal-Mart is the exception to the general rule, if you buy a gun from them and there is a problem with it they won't even let you bring back into their store, you have to ship it to the manufacturer.

  11.   There is probably a few good guns/sporting goods shops close to where you live, and that would be the best bet for a purchase.

Otherwise, try Gander Mountain, (the cheapest in my area) or Cabella's, Bass Pro shop, plus some independent dealers.

You didn't specify the type or brand or caliber, but if you decide to go with a medium price gun. look at the "Bersa brand".  I have on and it seems so far to be very reliable and accurate ,plus under $250.00.

  12. id wait until the gun show they always have the best price i wanted a smith &wesson 40 cal. i looked all over got prices then went to the gun show it just so happened one dealer was over stocked with 40 cal. and not many 9 mm so i ended up getting the 40 cal. for less than the 9 and its alot better gun so i would just wait and see

  13. Gun shop

  14. Just shop hard. A transfer will cost anywhere from $10 -35 bucks...

dont forget sales taxes. It costs about $25 bucks to ship a long gun on the carriers that do that sort of thing.

Add that up... sometimes it's cheaper to just get a local dealer to order a specific gun

    Jeff's rule on Gunshows

    1. go with cash and something specific in mind... nothing you would consider will be at that show

2 Go broke to browse...your dream list will be on 10 tables...at firesale prices

Only do a gunshow if you really know what YOUR bottom line price is...again shop hard. Haggle.. gun traders like a challenge.

    happy hunting
